Description
Do you need more holding power from your 2.4L Ecotec engine? Look no further, as we have come up with the best clutch we have ever tested here at DDMWorks. This Clutch/Flywheel combo comes it at a feather light 22 pounds shaving almost 40% off the stock weight. Rated at 450 ft/lbs of torque, this will hold all but the most built setups. When we started to push the supercharged cars we ran into the problem of the stock clutch slipping. The stock clutch that comes with the 2.4l from GM holds well, but once you start seeing over 250 ft/lbs of torque it starts to reach its limit. We tested several different clutches and being unsatisfied, decided to sit down and design our very own from scratch. We worked with one of the leading race clutch makers right here in the US to design a clutch/flywheel setup that would hold up to the power, but not make annoying resonance like some of the other setups we tested. We were quite pleased with what we ended up with. The DDMWorks clutch is a unique design compared to other setups on the market, our unique design uses a flat flywheel and the pressure plate coming down to meet it, instead of the deep flywheel with a thin pressure plate found on other clutch setups. Using this thin flywheel is the reason we were able to drop so much weight compared to the stock setup, and yet keep a slightly firmer pedal than stock. The combination is made up of a custom made DDMworks aluminum flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disc. This setup has a slightly firmer pedal than stock, but nowhere near as firm as the Exedy or Spec clutch setups. These clutches do require special tools and knowledge to install and is not something we recommend most homeowners install. Please consider professional installation on this clutch.
Our clutch kit is available in the 6 puck race version which offers more aggressive clamping force for even higher power, or the street disc that is much easier to engage than the 6 puck option and suggested for most street driven vehicles.

Questions and Answers
Q: What is the difference between the street and track? Besides price. Is one rated for more power than the other? Because I have a build motor with a custom turbo setup and I drive both street and a little track. So I just want to make sure I get the right set up for me. Thanks!
Asked by: Broc – 1/19/2019
A: The street setup has a full face clutch surface on one side and a partial puck setup on the other side of the disc. The race setup uses a 6 puck disc on both sides of the clutch disc. The pressure plate and flywheel are the same on both setups. The street setup will allow smoother clutch engagement and will be easier to drive in start and stop traffic, while the race setup will hold more power and be a little lighter.
